While in Tel Aviv the other day, I saw these dolls displaying underwear... I actually found them to be rather scary!!

Found this guy meditating in the park yesterday :) He looked so peaceful and oblivient to everything going on around him....

Date picking

It's that time of year - the time when the dates are ready to be picked, and the municipality sends trucks and people to pick and sort the dates from the trees around the city (Modiin).

Floods in the mall!

Our local mall (Modiin) was flooded yesterday because of the hard rain! The funny thing is that it onl;y rained for a very short time, but it was HARD!

Hey YOU!!

The last resident of Modiin Tent City

During the summer there were Tent Cities all over the country as part of the demonstration against high housing and living prices. There were hundreds, if not thousands, of tents in the major cities. By the end of the summer most people went home. I thought the tent city in Modiin had been deserted, but today I found ONE tent still standing :) It had moved to a different area (or rather: it had BEEN MOVED)...

And is now on Emek Ayalon (Emek Ohalon ----> Ohel=tent)

School trip to Jerusalem

Last night I joined my children on their yearly school trip to Jerusalem (for Slichot). It was a wonderful evening, with an interesting and fun programme. And I got to slip away once in a while, and take some night shots of the amazing city of Jerusalem :)

My morning in TA

Spent the morning in Tel Aviv trying to get some interesting shots for a project I'm working on - and of course testing my new lens (Nikon 35mm-1.8f) :) Learned a few new things: a) one is not allowed to take pics in a train (I was taking of the view outside), b) one is not allowed to take pics of the diamond exchange buildings.... oh, well ;)

Oslo - after the explosion

When we were in Oslo, we drove past the government building where the explosion was a couple of months ago. Everything was cleaned up, and except for some shattered windows, and some rather dead flowers placed in random places, it was hard to believe what had happened there...

Life after September 1st

September 1st is the day schools reopen after the looooooooong summer holidays here in Israel. And, yes, yesterday was the big day - after 2 months of no routine, travelling, too much ice cream etc, yesterday morning we woke up and got ready for school! I think everyone was happy to go back to school,
not only the parents :)
For us (and many others) it was extra exciting as one of our children started 1st grade (kita Aleph)!

We did a lot of "feeding the ducks" in Oslo. Actually, I don't think we saw any ducks, but the other birds were also happy to eat our bread, so everyone was satisfied :)

The Circus is in Town!

Wiiihiii !! We went to the circus! Still in Norway, and doing all sorts of interesting things :)Yesterday we took the kids to the circus - I have NEVER been to a circus before, so was just as excited and slightly overwhelmed as the kids!

Oslo synagogue and rain

While in Norway we went to see a wedding in the synagogue in Oslo. The whole thing was really beautiful, and it was very special for me as I hadn't been to this synangogue for very many years...

As we left, it started pouring down (as is tradition in Norway :), and all the wedding guests, wearing their amazing gowns and tuxedos had to hide under their rather plain umbrellas!

The Car Cleaner

The other day I went to visit my grandmother in Tel Aviv, and outside her building I saw this gentleman cleaning his car. He was doing so with such love - the two of them obviously go back a long way.

Summer is here - The Pool!

So summer is here! It's really hot, and the best place to spend Friday afternoons is at the local pool! And what is more fun than taking pics of people as they are relaxing and enjoying themselves on a hot summer afternoon :)
